Canada stabbings: Second suspect dead after car chase  – cause of death unknown

The second suspect in the stabbing rampage that killed 10 people and left 18 injured in and around a Canadian Indigenous reserve died after a police chase that forced his car off the road.

Myles Sanderson, 32, died on Wednesday following a three-day manhunt, officials say. His brother Damien Sanderson, 30 – also a suspect in the mass stabbing deaths, was found dead in a field near the scene of the stabbing rampage just two days earlier. Police are still investigating whether Myles Sanderson killed his brother.

Myles Sanderson was caught on a highway near the town of Rosthern in the province of Saskatchewan as officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle being driven by a man armed with a knife, police said.

Cops forced his vehicle off the road and into a ditch. At a news conference, the commander of the RCMP in Saskatchewan said Sanderson went into medical distress after the arrest and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No further details on the cause of death have been given.

But an official who spoke on condition of anonymity said he died of self-inflicted injuries.

No motive has been given as to why the brothers went on the killing rampage that has devastated a community.
