Twisted serial killer John Shaw smirks as he leaves prison for the first time in almost 50 years.

The barbaric rapist and murderer has been behind bars since 1976, but was given a day out to explore Dublin city centre, the Irish Mirror reports.

The 75-year-old lifer – who carried out the grizzly crimes with accomplice Geoffrey Evans – left cushy Arbour Hill prison last weekend. He went for a day out in the Irish capital, flanked by two plain clothes prison officers.
