Camilla tests positive for Covid-19
The Duchess of Cornwall has tested positive for Covid-19 and is now self-isolating, Clarence House has confirmed.
Prince Charles tested positive on Thursday but Camilla, 74, carried out a number of engagements on theat day after testing negative.
Prince Charles met the Queen just two days before he tested positive, but the Queen is not showing any symptoms – according to a royal source.
A Clarence House spokesman confirmed they both will follow government guidelines – this is the second time Prince Charles has tested positive for Covid and the first time the Duchess has caught Covid-19.
Buckingham Palace has not confirmed if the Queen has Covid, citing medical privacy.
Those who test postive for Covid are expected to notify anyone they have been in close contact with with in the previous 48 hours.
In England, contacts of positive Covid cases who are fully jabbed should take lateral flow tests for seven days. They do not have to self-isolate unless they test positive.
Camilla will now isolate for 10 days – she might be able to end this early is she tests negative on day five and day six.
