Former Spurs star rules himself out of Tottenham Job
Former Spurs star and legend Darren Anderton has ruled himself out of the Tottenham Hotspurs managerial role. Citing the problems run deeper than just the manager and team. Suggesting the London club requires changes at a higher level in order to succeed and compete in the top 6.
Tottenham have struggled to recruit a premium grade manager with many agents commenting that the ‘managers are reluctant to come to the club whilst Daniel Levey is at the helm.
Anderton now lives in California but still works in the UK media both on television and in print and has also represented Spurs as a club ambassador for their 2018 US pre-season tour.
Tottenham Hotspur legend Darren Anderton retired from playing in December 2008. Despite injuries hindering his career, Anderton still managed to chalk up 318 Premier League appearances in his 12 years at Spurs winning the League Cup with them in 1999.
Nuno’s future
Chairman Daniel Levy and managing director of football Fabio Paratici have held talks about Nuno’s future, and it is understood that Daniel Levy’s team have started reaching out to potential replacement managers and thus far without success.
It is understood they have reached out to Paulo Fonseca to come back into the frame and replace fellow Portuguese Nuno. But it is understood he prefers the Newcastle United job.
Tottenham job not for Spurs star
Nuno Espirito Santo’s future as Tottenham manager is in doubt after just 17 games following Saturday’s 3-0 home defeat by Manchester United.
They are eighth in the Premier League, 10 points behind leaders Chelsea, and failed to register a shot on target during Saturday’s loss.
The former Wolves boss, 47, was appointed on a two-year deal in June. But despite a promising start to the season, Spurs have now lost five of their last seven Premier League matches.
