The 2021 Miss Universe contest will be held in the Israeli Occupation December 2021, the organisation announced last week.
The official Miss Universe account posted on Twitter, “Seventy years! The 70th Miss Universe contest is set to take place in Eilat, [Israeli Occupation!] The Miss Universe contest will be broadcast live around the world in December 2021.”
This decision, according to Palestinian activists and supporters, is just another attempt to whitewash Zionist war crimes while avoiding all forms of punishment.
As a result, numerous people demanded that the concert be canceled or rescheduled.
A Twitter activist from South Africa wrote “@Official_MissSA I hope you’re not going to send our queen to compete in an apartheid state given the history of this country and of Miss SA itself.”
Eilat is one of the 540+ Palestinian towns and villages that the Israeli Occupation has ethnically cleansed and destroyed in order to establish itself as a settler colony in 1948. The original Palestinian name is Um Al-Rashash.
Eilat can be seen in close proximity from Aqaba, Jordan.
Eilat is a segregated town where Zionist settlers are allowed to visit, work, and live.
Palestinians, on the other hand, do not have the same rights and must obtain a permit from the Israeli Occupation authority in order to enter their own land.
Very rarely are Palestinians granted such permits.
Miss Universe contestants and judges will be allowed full liberties and rights in ‘Eilat’ for a beauty pageant, while Palestinians will be prohibited from entering.
