The i says the UK has demanded a “significant” renegotiation of its own Brexit deal on Northern Ireland.
Brexit Minister Lord Frost said the Northern Ireland protocol has been a “source of considerable and ongoing disruption to lives and livelihoods”, despite being Boris Johnson’s chief negotiator when it was agreed.
He stopped short of suspending the protocol completely but argued that the conditions for triggering Article 16 to rip up the deal – that it caused “significant societal and economic difficulties” – had been met.
