Spain tightens rape laws to include all ‘non-consensual sex’ after cases outraged nation

The i says Spain passed a law on Tuesday to classify all “non-consensual sex” as rape after a series of court cases outraged the country and prompted calls for change.

The cabinet approved the law five years after what became known as the “Wolf Pack” case, in which five men gang raped an 18-year-old woman at the Pamplona bull-running festival, but were at first handed a lesser sentence for the crime of sexual abuse.
