Fears over Morrisons estate being sold on cheap
The Times says the shops, warehouses and factories owned by Wm Morrison could be worth almost £9 billion — double the value the supermarket chain believes they are worth, raising concerns that a buyout firm could seize the assets on the cheap.
The Bradford-based company has recommended a 254p-a-share takeover by a consortium led by Fortress, the SoftBank-owned US investment firm, while it has also attracted takeover interest from private equity firms Clayton, Dubilier & Rice and Apollo.
