Man quoted £72k for week in Cornwall as he accuses holiday firms of exploitation
The Mirror says Paul Nickerson was looking forward to a week’s break in Cornwall with his family-of-five. But when he tried to book a holiday home he was stunned to find an average three-bed property cost over £10,000 a night
A man got a nasty shock when he tried to book a staycation and was told it would cost him a staggering £71,000.
Tory councillor Paul Nickerson was looking forward to a week’s holiday in Cornwall with his family-of-five at a popular beauty spot.
But when he began searching for suitable holiday homes they could stay in, he was horrified to find the average cost for seven days was £71,627.
Now the East Riding councillor has condemned the UK holiday home industry, saying firms are exploiting the lack of available properties and the narrow choices people have for holidaying this year, reports HullLive.
