Dot Cotton: Actress June Brown says she had left Eastenders ‘for good’
BBC News says Eastenders icon June Brown has announced she has left her role as Dot Cotton for good, ending her 35-year run on the show.
“I’ve left for good,” said the 93-year-old in an interview with podcast Distinct Nostalgia.
She is one of the BBC soap’s longest-running characters and has become a firm favourite with viewers.
Dot Cotton has not been in an episode since January. An Eastenders spokesman said the “door remains open.”

Trump doesn’t think Parasite deserved Best Picture because it’s South Korean
ScreenRant says President Trump has criticised Academy Award’s decision to honour Parasite with the Best Picture Oscar.
At a campaign rally in Colorado Trump disparaged the film’s win before saying Hollywood should return to making “great movies” like ‘Gone With The Wind.’
“How bad were the Academy Awards this year,” Trump asked according to The Hollywood Reporter.
He continued: “And the winner is … a movie from South Korea! What the hell was that all about? We’ve got enough problems with South Korea, with trade. On top of that, they give them the best movie of the year. Was it good? I don’t know. Let’s get Gone With The Wind back, please? Sunset Boulevard. So many great movies.”

Rapper shot dead in house invasion in Hollywood Hills
Sky News says rapper Pop Smoke has been shot dead during a “house invasion” in the Hollywood Hills, according to US reports.
Nicki Minaj and 50 Cent are among those who have paid tribute to the 20-year-old musician on social media.
His record label, Republic Records, also posted a tribute, saying: “We are devasted by the unexpected and tragic loss.”

Ellie Goulding says she is ‘ready’ for her comeback
Music-News says pop star Ellie Goulding says she was “prolonging” her return to music after getting married in 2019. But now she’s excited to be back and preparing to release her new album this year.
Speaking on the red carpet at The Brit Awards in London on Tuesday, Ellie said: “It’s coming soon.
“I’ve been prolonging it for a long time – but I think I am ready now.”
