90s icon causes chaos on Britain’s Got Talent after falling from stage and throwing tantrum

An appearance from a 90s icon on Britain’s Got Talent descended into mayhem after he took a tumble and later had a meltdown.

You can all breathe a sigh of relief as Mr Blobby will be making a comeback to our screens on the ITV juggernaut series on Saturday, after first appearing on the BBC in 1992.

However, his return to the big-time didn’t go down well with judges Simon Cowell, 63, Amanda Holden, 52, Alesha Dixon, 44 and Bruno Tonioli, 67.

As soon as she claps her eyes on Mr Blobby, Alesha claps her head in her hands and lets out a long: ‘No.’

Undeterred, the yellow-spotted figure bounds towards the judges’ panel but not before tripping off the stage, giving Amanda quite the fright.

‘Are you ok?’ a bemused-looking Simon enquires.

Mr Blobby jokes: ‘Mr Blobby is going to hospital.’

The bulbous pink character then proceeds to place a giant deck of cards on the desk, with Amanda shooting up to select one from the pack.

Mr Blobby then tries to guess Amanda’s card – but gets it very, very wrong.

The kids’ icon is, to put it lightly, frustrated his game didn’t go to plan and proceeds to have a tantrum, throwing the cards in the way.

Simon does not look amused.

However, chaos is just a day’s work for Mr Blobby, who has a habit of turning up on TV shows and wreaking havoc.

During an appearance on This Morning earlier this year, he interrupted Carol Vorderman, blocked the camera and smashed a prop in the space of a few minutes.

Having first appeared alongside Noel Edmonds on the likes of Noel’s House Party, Blobby went solo and famously showed up in the video for Peter Kay’s charity hit Is This the Way to Amarillo in 2005.

Created by comedy writer Charlie Adams, the character was initially played by Barry Killerby until 2015, and for the last seven years its been Paul Denson inside the costume.

Britain’s Got Talent continues Saturday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
