Partner of £5.5m lottery winner pleads guilty to trying to murder her at family home
The Daily Mirror says the partner of a lottery winner who scooped £5.5 million has pleaded guilty to trying to murder her at their family home.
Stephen Gibbs, 45, initially denied attempting to kill Emma Brown, 49.
Today, he was due to stand trial for attempted murder but he changed his plea to guilty at Cardiff Crown Court, Wales Online reports.
Solicitor-Advocate Derrick Gooden, for Gibbs, asked for sentencing to be adjourned.
Addressing the defendant, Judge Richard Twomlow said: “You have now pleaded guilty to the offence of attempted murder, a serious offence.
