Metro reports a packet of 20 cigarettes is set to rise to £16 as Chancellor Jeremy Hunt launches a war on smoking and vaping in the upcoming spring budget. The move is expected to bring in millions of pounds.
The paper says he’s planning to bring in a levy on liquids in e-cigarettes for importers and manufacturers to make the products unaffordable for children. It estimates the tax rise will bring in around half a billion pounds.
