The festive season is almost upon us and next week takes things to the next level in the land of soap (Picture: BBC / ITV / Lime Pictures)

‘Twas the week before Christmas and there was chaos and drama aplenty in the land of soap, with the beginnings of the disaster set to ensue.

Yes, three of our main soaps ramp up the pace next week as we approach the festive season, with big discoveries and shocks aplenty.

Suki Panesar is on a mission to find out what happened to Eve Unwin in EastEnders, concocting a revenge plot which is soon stopped in its tracks when Nish is arrested for Eve’s murder.

    Oh dear.

Emmerdale, meanwhile, sees Kim Tate facing some serious questions, while Mackenzie Boyd is kidnapped. But by who?

Over in Coronation Street, Peter Barlow shocks Carla with a huge revelation, revealing that he’s lost all interest in life.

In Hollyoaks, Christmas comes early, with the Channel 4 soap as ever not airing any new episodes on Christmas Day, meaning that fans can expect the residents of the serial to celebrate the festivities next week instead of the week after.

And it’s going to be big one in the eponymous village!

For all your soapy needs, Metro has put together a first look at what’s to come next week, so if you want to know what happens, we’ve got you covered.

Denise, meanwhile, is determined to fight for her marriage, but a shocking discovery renders her speechless, with Kim informing her that she must divorce Jack as their marriage is over. Amy is horrified and flees, leaving both Jack and Amy worried sick. Determined to protect Amy’s mental health, Jack forbids Denise to leave.

Suki takes action against Nish as she begins to fear the worst (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron)

Suki is convinced that a bunch of flowers sent to Stacey are not from Eve and, after doing some digging on Nish’s laptop, she comes to realise that he must know about the affair. She relays her discovery to Stacey, with the pair worried sick about Eve’s safety. Hellbent on revenge, Suki puts a plan into action. Stacey urges her to be careful, but Suki is adamant. Shocking scene ensue, however, when Jack tells Stacey that both Nish and Ravi have been arrested for Eve’s murder.

Sharon and Linda return home with the former’s wedding dress – as Dean berates them from afar (Picture: BBC / Jack Barnes / Kieron McCarron)

Sharon and Linda collect the former’s dream wedding dress but, upon arriving back in the Square, disaster strikes, with the garment ending up in the road courtesy of Tommy! Sharon reasons that it must be a sign to cancel her wedding, but Linda gives her words of encouragement – and Kathy provides her with the dress.

    Coronation Street

Daisy is caught out (Picture: ITV)

Jenny and Carla fail to persuade Audrey to hand over Stephen’s journal. Daisy tells Jenny not to give up as she deserves a cut of that money for what she went through and she could buy the Rovers back. Daisy calls at the bistro and spotting all the Platts’ coats hanging up, forms a plan. Having stolen David’s keys, Daisy lets herself into No.8. She searches frantically for the journal but is forced to run upstairs when Audrey arrives back. Will she be found?

Peter and Carla attend a support group (Picture: ITV)

When Peter reveals that he’s got a support group meeting later, Carla offers to go with him. At the support group, Peter admits that he’s lost all interest in life and every day has become a chore. Carla’s left deeply concerned and heartbroken to realise the depth of his despair. Michael calls at the factory to find Carla busy on her laptop. When Carla shows him the Christmas present she’s bought Peter, Michael’s flabbergasted.

What could possibly go wrong? (Picture: ITV)

With things still fraught at the Platts, Lily suggests that they introduce a ‘nice box’ like they have at school, where the kids have to write nice things about each other and place them in the box and says Audrey will read out the comment. What could possibly go wrong?

    Emmerdale

Aaron’s behaviour continues to frustrate Charles, who orders him to show some respect to his mother. Chas is grateful to have found a friend in Charles while Aaron makes it his mission to humiliate a smitten Ethan, leaving Chas with some harsh words for her son which leave him blindsided.

The truth is exposed (Picture: ITV)

    Hollyoaks

Dilly is up to no good as she sets out to destroy Sienna (Picture: Lime Pictures)

Sienna wants to build burnt bridges with Maxine, but Dilly announces that she’s taken it upon herself to be deputy maid of honour, telling Maxine that Rafe is dying.

With Sienna out of earshot, she voices her concern that the stress of the wedding will limit his time even more. It all gets too much for Sienna when Dilly shows her the lime green bridesmaid dresses that she’s purchased, but when Rafe admits he asked his sister to help, Sienna agrees to try make amends with her. Dilly resorts to telling Maxine lies to put an end to their newly reformed friendship. Just what is she up to?
