Documents reportedly showed British front companies, linked to a sanctioned Iranian firm, used accounts provided by the banks. The US accuses the firm, Petrochemical Commercial Company, of raising funds for Iran’s Revolutionary Guards. The banks stated they couldn’t comment on specific cases but assured compliance with sanctions laws.
‘Tragic’ XL Bullies dog attack
Several UK newspapers focused on a tragic dog attack in Essex.
The Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail, and Daily Express extensively covered the incident. The Daily Mirror reported the 11-year-old grandson of the victim witnessed the attack, fleeing in fear as the dogs, believed to be XL Bullies, mauled 68-year-old Esther Martin.
