Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 is the cheapest it’s ever been in early Prime Day deal

Amazon has already started the Amazon Prime Day discounts for video games, and they now include a surprisingly cheap high-end gamepad.

While the DualSense gamepad for the PlayStation 5 is generally agreed to be a better controller than the default Xbox one that comes with the console, many would say that the more expensive Xbox Elite was even better still.

You do have to pay for that quality though and usually they cost a hefty £159.99 for the latest Series 2 version. However, Microsoft did recently release a cheaper version, which goes for £114.99 and now that’s in the early Amazon Prime Day sales.

The Core Edition, as it’s called, is currently 10% off on Amazon.co.uk, which means you can snap it up for just £104.

That’s obviously still expensive but the Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 is a lot more robust that the standard Xbox controllers and designed for hardcore gamers and professional esports players.

That means a higher build quality, with a rubberised grip, as well as special thumbsticks, where you can adjust the tension, and shorter hair trigger locks. As you can see, the D-pad has also been redesigned.

You can also customise what all the buttons on the Core version do, as there’s a special app that allows you to change the button mappings to whatever you want.

The reason the Core Edition is cheaper is that the more expensive version comes with a range of interchangeable parts that lets you switch over to taller or shorter analogue sticks, and different D-pad and back paddles.

Those options are really only for the super hardcore though and if you really feel you’re missing out then you can always buy them, and a charging dock and carrying case, separately.

And, wouldn’t you know it, that just so happens to be £20 off at the moment too.
