Cliff Notes – WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025 UK start time for earth shattering new show

    • AJ Lee makes her long-awaited return to the ring after a decade, teaming with CM Punk against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, heightening anticipation for the event.
    • Wrestlepalooza marks WWE’s new premium live event under its US deal with ESPN, aiming to establish a flagship show following WrestleMania’s move to Saudi Arabia in 2027.
    • The event features a stacked lineup, including John Cena’s potential final match against Brock Lesnar and a WWE Championship bout between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre.

It’s not an understatement to suggest Wrestlepalooza could help define the future of WWE.

This weekend, the company launches what has been described as a ‘blockbuster’ new premium live event to kickstart its new US-only deal with ESPN.

After the recent announcement that WrestleMania will head to Saudi Arabia in 2027, there are hopes the new PLE can become a huge success to give the company another flagship show on that level.

It’s safe to say WWE is taking this event seriously, with a stacked lineup complete with what a recent press release described as two ‘earth-shattering’ in-ring returns.

From AJ Lee’s first match in over a decade to one of John Cena’s final few matches, the wrestling giant is expected to go all out.

Here’s everything you need to know about the show!

    When is WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025?

The first ever WWE Wrestlepalooza PLE airs tomorrow night (Saturday, September 20), at a special start time of 11.30pm for UK fans.

That means for US fans watching on ESPN for the first time, it’ll be 6:30pm ET/ 3:30pm PT.

How can you watch WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025?

While a lot is being made of the US deal with ESPN, WWE fans in the UK can stream Wrestlepalooza live or on demand via Netflix, as usual.

The streamer is the official home of WWE for most countries outside the United States, and for fans in the UK that means live episodes of Raw, SmackDown and NXT, monthly PLEs and original programmes like tell-all docu-series WWE Unreal are all part of your subscription.

Simply log into your account, and you’re good to go!

Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins vs. AJ Lee and CM Punk

Marriages collide in this one, as AJ Lee returns for the first time in 10 years to team with husband CM Punk against WWE power couple Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch.

    John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar

It’s a match not without some backlash where Brock Lesnar is concerned – but he will challenge John Cena one last time as the greatest of all time edges closed towards his retirement in December.

WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre

Cody Rhodes hasn’t wrestled since early August (Picture: WWE)

Cody Rhodes had some time off recently during filming for Street Fighter, but Drew McIntyre was blamed on-screen after a brutal assault. Now, they’ll meet in the ring for a massive title match.

Women’s World Championship: Iyo Sky vs. Stephanie Vaquer

Both Stephanie Vaquer and Iyo Sky had earned themselves opportunities at the Women’s World Title before Naomi was forced to vacate the gold, so now they’ll meet to determine the new champion.

    The Usos vs. The Vision

Twins Jimmy and Jey Uso get the band back together this weekend against Seth Rollins’ heavies Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in what could be a career-making night for the rising stars.

    Is Tiffany Stratton injured?

There are currently some mixed messages around WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and her status for Wrestlepalooza.

Fan photos from the on-site story in Indianapolis show an event t-shirt featuring the five confirmed matches, and a triple threat featuring Tiffany defending her hold against Nia Jax and Jade Cargill.

Tiffy was pulled from this week’s NXT Homecoming event and hasn’t wrestled since SmackDown last week, but tonight’s show will probably make things clearer.

    WWE roster and champions

The likes of Iyo Sky, Rhea Ripley, Stephanie Vaquer and Nikki Bella make up a stacked division (Picture: Craig Melvin/WWE via Getty Images)

Heading into Wrestlepalooza, WWE has a stacked and talented roster from top to bottom with some huge names holding championship gold, and some of them will be highlighted this weekend.

At the top of the Raw roster, Seth Rollins is still World Heavyweight Champion, while the Women’s World Title is vacant until tomorrow night, after Naomi stepped away following her pregnancy announcement.

SmackDown’s WWE Championship is held by Cody Rhodes, who will defend against Drew McIntyre this weekend, while Tiffany Stratton – who may be out of action due to injury – is still WWE Women’s Champion.

When it comes to the men’s and women’s Intercontinental Titles, Dominik Mysterio and Becky Lynch still hold the gold, while Sami Zayn recently won the United States Title, with Giulia claiming that title on the women’s side.

In the tag ranks, Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and JD McDonagh are on top for Raw, while Wyatt Sicks members Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis have been dominating the division on SmackDown.
