The Royal Rumble delivered in spades
WWE fans were left in floods of tears for all the right reasons just minutes after Logan Paul appeared to have ‘ruined’ the 2025 Royal Rumble.
The Road to WrestleMania 41 is officially here and Jey Uso is heading to the main event in Las Vegas after pulling off one of the biggest upsets in the company’s history.
In what was arguably the most star-studded Rumble in history, the former Bloodline member eliminated John Cena to book his own place in the history books.
‘Is Cole crying? I am too 😭 #RoyalRumble,’ tweeted one fan, while another added: ‘OH MY GOD IM CRYING JEY USOOOO #RoyalRumble’
‘Sitting here literally crying. So happy for Jey Uso!!! #YEET #DayOneIsh #RoyalRumble,’ admitted a third viewer, with yet another fan saying: ‘Im crying 😭😭😭😭 sometimes wrestling just touches your heart Jey Uso wins the Royal Rumble #RoyalRumble’
It was a rollercoaster of emotions, with controversial YouTuber Logan threatening to derail the whole match after he eliminated fan favourite CM Punk to a chorus of boos.
‘Logan Paul coming out at 30 ruined my night man #ROYALRUMBLE,’ one fan raged.
‘I was just about to cheer that punk eliminated roman and seth but NOOO logan’s gotta go and ruin everything,’ complained a different viewer, while others were simply baffled and the whole turn of events.
‘CM Punk has been eliminated by Logan Paul. This is a real sentence,’ wrote another fan.
It was an eventful night across the board, with the likes of Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu, Penta and more having incredible strong showings in the men’s Royal Rumble.
There were some surprises too, as YouTuber iShowSpeed was a last-second replacement for poor Akira Tozawa and AJ Styles returned from injury after being on the shelf since October 2024.
The feelgood moment of the men’s bout was arguably TNA Wrestling champion and viral sensation Joe Hendry, who came out to an incredible ovation and stood face-to-face with the Tribal Chief.
In the women’s Rumble, Charlotte Flair made her in-ring return after over a year out of injury and emerged victorious to book her ticket to WrestleMania.
Roxanne Perez almost caused a major upset, while she and her fellow NXT standouts made a splash with Jaida Parker, Stephenie Vaquer, Lash Legend and Guilia all appearing.
Hall of Famer’s Trish Stratus and Nikki Bella both returned too, while Jordynne Grace’s arrival and Alexa Bliss’ comeback were truly special moments that really shake things up on Raw, SmackDown and beyond.
Away from the Rumbles, Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens went to war in an absolutely vicious Ladder Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
The Prizefighter came close, but a genuinely scary Alabama Slam through a ladder was enough to help the American Nightmare regain his gold.
Elsewhere, #DIY escaped with a win over Motor City Machine Guns in a two out of three falls match thanks to the returning Street Profits, who also laid out the tag team champs after the bell.
