WSL attendance record for a season broken with 36 games left
The Women’s Super League (WSL) has already set a new season attendance record – with six rounds (or 36 games) left to play.
A club-record 32,970 watched Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Friday, taking the total number of fans attending WSL games this campaign to 717,721.
It surpasses the previous record of 689,297 set across the whole of the 2022-23 season.
This new record has been achieved with 36 games still left to be played.
Larger WSL crowds are becoming popular and more of the women’s teams are staging a number of their home matches at stadiums this season.
After the upcoming Women’s Football Weekend on 23-24 March during the men’s international break, every WSL side other than West Ham will have played at least one game at their main stadium this season.
