VIDEO: World condemns Colombia ‘excessive force’ – 19 dead, 846 injured, many missing

The world has come together to condemn the violence and what the UN called “excessive use of force” by security officers in Colombia. So far 19 people have been killed and 846 injured in ongoing clashes with security forces during days of anti-government protests.

The UN, US, EU and rights bodies joined in the criticism after the official data on deaths and injuries were published.

A Colombia human rights agency – separate from the government – listed 89 people as “disappeared.”

Tens of thousands of Colombians have taken to the street since last Wednesday against a proposed tax reform but have since turned into broader protests against the government.
