Woman furious after she comes home to find ‘eyesore’ 20ft wall towering over garden

The Daily Mirror says: A woman has voiced her fury after coming home to discover builders had put a massive 20-foot high concrete wall on the edge of her garden.

Sharon Everill was shocked to discover the ‘eyesore’ structure towering over her property – saying it was a “complete surprise”.

She said she knew the development in Knutton, Staffordshire, would come up to the northern edge of her home, but had no idea how tall the wall would be.

She now fears it could devalue her house, where she has lived for 30 years.

The developers told StokeOnTrent Live they have offered a “contribution” toward the cost of trees to hide the wall, but Mrs Everill said that wasn’t good enough.

She said: “We knew there was going to be a house 30 feet back from the edge of our property, but it was never mentioned that there would be a 20 foot high concrete retaining all. We just came back home one day and there it was.
