Air fryers have become a staple in households around the world.
So the opportunity to make one of the nation’s favourite baked goods using the appliance is very much welcome.
A woman on TikTok has shared how to make a sausage roll in an air fryer – in just 15 minutes and using only four ingredients.
She’s even has made the bold claim that she actually prefers this version to the popular Greggs sausage roll.
Becky Excell, known as @beckyexcell on TikTok, is behind this ‘better than Greggs’ sausage roll recipe, which is actually pretty simple to make.
In her TikTok, she says all you need is some sausages (for the sausage meat), a pack of shop-bought puff pastry, mustard and an egg to glaze.
She explains: ‘I must admit, I love a big sausage roll but Greggs just isn’t for me, so I make my own.
‘The best way to do it, I think, is in the air fryer.’

Becky starts by skinning the sausages to remove the meat and then rolls her pastry out and cuts it in half.
She then cuts the rolled out pastry in half to make two long rectangles, and pops mustard down the middle of both.
Then she adds the sausage meat on top and washes with egg before folding over to encase, and crimping the edge with a fork.Â
Becky then brushes the rolls with egg and scores them, before baking for 12-14 minutes in an air fryer at 200 C.
She adds: ‘Another thing I really like about making these in the air fryer is that any excess fat drips through the basket so they’re never soggy. No soggy bottoms here.’
Mary Berry would be proud.
