A man has been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving after a woman died on a country lane.
A red Ford Fiesta and two pedestrians were involved in a crash on Church Hill, in Charing Heath near Ashford, Kent, on Saturday.
Paramedics and police rushed to the scene after 9.24pm and a woman in her twenties was taken to hospital, but was later pronounced dead.
A child was also taken to hospital with non-serious injuries.
A man was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and he remains in custody.
Kent Police’s serious collision investigation unit is now calling for witnesses to the crash to come forward, especially if they have any dashcam footage or CCTV from the area around the time.

Two young men were also killed in a head-on crash between a car and a van around a month ago in Kent.
The pair died after the red Ford Escort they were in collided with a silver Ford Panel van travelling in the opposite direction.
Emergency services rushed to the A20 in Farningham, but they were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other men, who were in the van, were injured in the collision and taken to hospital.
