Will there be another lockdown before Christmas?
The Daily Express says THE UK’S Covid alert level has been raised to Level 4 due to the rapid spread of the Omicron variant – prompting concern for the NHS. But will there be another lockdown before Christmas?
Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation on Sunday night in a pre-recorded address, urging Brits to step up and get their booster jabs. Announcing the target for all British adults to receive their booster had been moved forward by a month to the end of December, Mr Johnson said we “must urgently reinforce our wall of vaccine protection” to tackle the rising Omicron variant. Plan B measures are currently in place across England, with masks required in public areas, people told to work from home and vaccine passports for large events, but concern is growing for the Christmas period.
However, some officials have argued Plan B measures don’t go far enough to stem the spread of the Omicron variant.
