Mykhailo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez were not named in Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea squad to face Brentford on Saturday.
It is thought that both players have been ruled out due to minor injuries while Fernandez’s absence was also due to his partner giving birth this week.
Chelsea provided an injury update on seven players on Friday in the build-up to the clash at Stamford Bridge but there was no mention of the duo’s problems.
Mudryk’s omission is a blow for Chelsea with the Ukraine international having registered two goals in his last three Premier League games.
Pochettino made three changes to the side that threw away a two-goal lead against Arsenal last time out, with Axel Disasi returning from injury in place of Malo Gusto.
Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson came in for Mudryk and Fernandez while goalkeeper Robert Sanchez kept his place in the XI despite his blunder in the 2-2 draw against the Gunners.

Two notable omissions for the Blues.
