It was recently announced that a new presenter would be fronting This Morning after Holly Willoughby’s exit.
That radio and TV personality is none other than Siân Welby, who people might have been familiar with in the past thanks to her work across broadcasters including the BBC, Channel 4 and ITV.
Siân has appeared on This Morning in the past, making reuglar appearances as a showbiz reporter on the programme.
However, this time around, she’ll be stepping up as the main presenter alongside Dermot O’Leary, marking a departure from her regular role as a presenter on Capital Breakfast.
So who is Siân, what work has she done in the past and is she in a relationship? Here’s what you need to know.

Siân is a TV and radio presenter, who celebrated her 37th birthday on September 3 last year.

She was born in Nottingham and grew up in the village of Upton.
While working part-time in retail, she began her presenting career when she was just 19 years old.
It wasn’t long before her talents were noticed, ahead of a big role at Channel 5.

In recent times, some of her most exciting moments on the radio programme have including interviewing Hollywood A-listers including Jason Momoa, Brad Pitt and Kevin Hart.
Back in 2010, Siân was working on Channel 5 News, before going on to present the quiz shows HQ Trivia and Heart’s Triple Play.
From 2017, she was hosting her own show on Heart, before she took over the Sunday morning breakfast show on the radio station.
Then four years ago in 2020, she officially became a part of the Capital Breakfast team, originally working with Roman and Sonny Jay, before Chris joined the team.

In July last year, the TV and radio star announced the exciting news that she and her boyfriend Jake Beckett had become engaged.
Sharing a post on Instagram, she revealed that she had initially thought that they were simply going on a boat trip… but Jake had a secret up his sleeve as he was getting ready to pop the question.
Uploading a photo of herself showcasing her new diamond engagement ring while sitting with her beau, she wrote in the caption: ‘On Tuesday I thought we were just going on a boat trip!! 🥹
‘Genuinely didn’t see this coming. For once I am totally speechless. I didn’t think it mattered until he asked me, and then suddenly it meant everything 💙 Love you Jakey x 15.8.23.’
Jake is a creative producer at Heart Breakfast, a role that he’s had since February 2023, having worked at Global since 2019.
Who is Siân Welby’s dad? Inside her family life
In 2022, Siân opened up about the fears that she had for her dad Ian after he contrated Covid-19 following his cancer diagnosis.
‘He was so ill, we all thought he was going to die,’ she said about her father, who was 82 years old at the time.
‘He couldn’t even open his mouth to eat, he went down to six and a half stone.’
Speaking to The Sun, she continued: ‘He went so downhill in such a short amount of time the doctors thought he had advance dementia and would be bedridden. We had to tell them, “No!” He wasn’t like this at all before!’
Siân added that her dad couldn’t believe that stars including Emma Bunton and Amanda Holden sent him well-wishes.
When is Siân presenting This Morning?
After previously appearing on This Morning as a showbiz reporter, it was revealed that Siân would be hosting the programme with Dermot from Monday January 22 to Thursday January 25.

On social media, she reacted by saying: ‘This news is about me and even I don’t believe it.’
An insider previously said: ‘Sian has many years of presenting experience under her belt, she is very much ear marked as being a star of the future.
‘She has done really well already on This Morning so the bosses thought it was time to give her the reins to the whole show rather than just segments.’
They added to MailOnline that viewers ‘love a new, fresh face on the show so everyone involved in it is really excited’.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
