All eyes will be on This Morning as Holly Willoughby makes her highly-anticipated return today following her former co-host Phillip Schofield’s exit.

Following Schofield’s final show, which aired on Thursday May 18, Willoughby hasn’t been seen on the ITV programme since, taking some time away from the show.

The 42-year-old has been on an extended half-term break, with presenters including Alison Hammond, Dermot O’Leary and Craig Doyle stepping in to take over in her stead.

Today (Monday June 5), the TV presenter finally returns, but she won’t be joined by her usual co-presenter.

Instead, Josie Gibson will sit next to her on the sofa, before another co-host joins her later in the week.

What time is This Morning on today?

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am, with the programme lasting for two and a half hours until 12.30pm.

The same goes today, following on from Good Morning Britain from 6am and Lorraine from 9am, and then followed by Loose Women at 12.30pm.

Will Holly Willoughby address Phillip Schofield ‘fallout’ on the show?

Willoughby and Schofield were previously described as ‘best friends’.

However, in a recent tell-all interview, Schofield spoke out about the affair that he had with a younger runner on This Morning and the fact that he lied to his family and colleagues – including Willoughby – about it.

The 61-year-old shared that he messaged Willoughby to apologise for not being honest with her about the relationship, adding that she didn’t reply.

It’s been claimed that Willoughby will address what’s been going on behind the scenes at This Morning when she returns.

‘Holly wants to address Phillip’s recent admissions about his affair,’ an insider told The Sun.

‘She will be honest and open, mentioning him by name. She’s not shying away from the tricky subject as she wants to show up for the viewers and loyal fans.’

They added: ‘Even though Holly has been on holiday with her family, she has been thinking about it a lot and tried to process the dramatic turn of events.

‘She has thought about what she will say and written it in advance, taking her time to get the words right.’

The source claimed that Willoughby hasn’t been ‘forced’ to make the statement and it won’t be ‘easy’ for her.

Even though ‘she knows she could get emotional’, she feels it is the ‘right thing to do’, they stated.

The insider added that she will ‘choose her words carefully and deliver them in a sensitive manner’ after being ‘really upset’ to hearing the impact that the controversy has had on Schofield’s mental state.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
