If you can’t get enough romance reality TV in your eyeballs there is another show soon to hit our screens hoping to spread the love.

Davina McCall will front new dating show My Mum, Your Dad, which was previously known as Romance Retreat, which will see single parents looking for love.

The daters will be under constant surveillance and their children will essentially be playing Cupid in a twist that was recently confirmed.

And according to Metro.co.uk’s first look review, it might just save reality TV.

So before My Mum, Your Dad hits our screens, we look at what the show is, who is in the cast, and how you can tune in.

What is My Mum Your Dad?

Described as ‘middle-aged Love Island,’ My Mum, Your Dad will follow ‘middle-aged single parents heading to a romance retreat for a second chance at love which is overseen by their children,’ according to a synopsis.

It will be hosted by Big Brother icon Davina McCall, who originally pitched the idea to ITV’s commissioning editor Amanda Stavri, though has revealed she would like to move away from its original nickname.

‘It’s my fault that it got called Midlife Love Island – that’s what I called it in an email to Amanda. I’ve been trying to burn that name ever since!’ she told The Mirror.

Speaking about the importance of the show at a special screening of the first episode, that took place at the ITV offices in London, Davina also stressed how special the show is to her.

‘I just wanted to see midlifers represented in terms of dating,’ she said.

‘In your forties and fifties and when you’ve got children, life is complicated, but more than ever you feel that you are at a point in your life where you deserve to find love.

‘They deserve to find love and spend the rest of their lives with somebody. You know when,’ Davina said before abruptly having to stop talking. ‘It’s about opening the door and coming home to someone.’

    When does it start?

Those eager to tune into My Mum, Your Dad don’t have love to wait, with the first episode set to air at 9pm on Monday, September 11 on ITV and ITVX.

The series will play out across two weeks with 10 hour-long episodes. It will air each weeknight at 9pm and then will be available on catch-up.

Natalie bravely opened up on her battles with substance abuse, which also led to stints in rehab facilities and a spell in a psychiatric hospital before turning it around to become a relationship coach.

She’s now shared details of what she labelled her ‘chaotic’ past, explaining how childhood trauma sparked her addiction issues and a ‘deep hatred’ within herself.

‘I had a lot of trauma as a child – there was sexual abuse in teenage years, there was rape, a broken home, I ran away from home and I ended up abusing substances which led to prison and psychiatric hospital, suicide attempts – just utter chaos,’ she added when speaking on the Little Girls Aren’t Taught This podcast, as reported by the Daily Mail.

My Mum, Your Dad starts Monday 11th September at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX. It airs every weeknight for two weeks.
