Warwick Davis had some choice words for Disney Plus after the streaming service discontinued and removed his series Willow.
The 53-year-old actor took to his social media account to slam the platform for not renewing the concept in which he plays the titular role.
Disney Plus’ Willow was a follow up to the 1988 fantasy film of the same name and saw the return of Warwick to the story – that he first starred in when he was just 17 years old.
On X – formerly known as Twitter – he vented his frustration at the show being taken off the network and called the decision ‘embarrassing’.
Alongside a Willow poster, he typed: ‘I meet lovely people on a daily basis who are fans of #Willow, who are the reason the @DisneyPlus Series was made.
‘Please tell me @WaltDisneyCo, what do I say to these subscribers when they ask why they can’t watch the series any more? #embarrassing.’

Fans rushed to the comment section to share their thoughts on the star’s message with many agreeing with his sentiment.
One penned: ‘I didn’t know you couldn’t watch the series anymore – but I’ll add my voice to the chorus saying the new #Willow was great – it was fun and exciting and I loved every minute!’
Another said: ‘Willow not getting a 2nd series is the greatest travesty of television. Best show of 2022! Even the behind the scenes video was hilarious.’
‘Being cheated out of a second series was bad enough, but removing the first from Disney+ was a travesty,’ a separate social media account added.
Some sided with the streaming platform and disputed Warwick’s point, saying: ‘With all due respect, lots of people weren’t happy with the direction, and I believe the lack of viewership is why it got the axe.
‘There are more deserving shows that should get the axe, but this is something of an explanation.’
Not the only cast member to speak out about the discontinuation of the fantasy programme, back in May a showrunner – Jonathan Kasdan – shared his thoughts on the decision.

He explained on X: ‘I’ve been quiet on this news that Willow is leaving [Disney+] ’cause… I’m kinda into it.
‘I grew up at a time when [Disney] movies were periodically re-released and not available to own, and it made them… more special.
‘I worry about many things…but none of them are that Willow will never be available again, either on [Disney+] or perhaps… someplace else, & ya never know where that could lead… stranger things have happened.
‘So grateful for all the love and enthusiasm; it’s truly what keeps these worlds alive.’
