Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk says Manchester United were ‘buzzing’ with a draw at Anfield and did not try to win the game.
Jurgen Klopp’s side failed to win at Anfield in the Premier League for the first time this season as they came up against a stubborn United side.
United feared a beating on Merseyside but they limited the Reds to few chances and had some of their own on the counter-attack through Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho.
Liverpool’s draw means they’ve failed to take advantage on dropped points from Manchester City.
And, speaking to Sky Sports at full-time, a clearly angry Van Dijk accused United of being ‘buzzing’ with a point.
‘There was only one team trying to win the game but unfortunately it did not happen,’ said Van Dijk.
‘That’s why it’s frustrating. We want to win every game.
‘We were superior in all aspects, they were hoping to hurt us on the counter and they are buzzing with a point and we are very disappointed with a point.’
