A woman who was pushed 165 feet off a cliff at Germany’s ‘Cinderalla’ castle managed to survive by clinging on to a tree.

Kelsey Chang, 22, and Eva Lui, 21, from Illinois, US, were attacked and pushed down a steep cliff at the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany on Wednesday.

Eva was airlifted to hospital, where she was sadly pronounced dead.

A video of the rescue appears to show German mountain rescuers being lowered down from a helicopter half way down the steep cliff.

A woman, who is wearing blue top, can be seen moving around next to a fallen tree.

The fallen trunk is at the top of a sheer drop down a much steeper area of the cliff.

The new video was filmed just by the entrance to the castle in south Germany.

The pair had met a fellow American tourist on a hiking path on Wednesday afternoon, local police said.

The pair had met a fellow American tourist on a hiking path on Wednesday afternoon, local police said.

The man then ‘physically attacked’ Eva, police said.

When Kelsey tried to intervene, he choked her and pushed her down a steep slope, they added.

The man then allegedly attempted to sexually assault Eva before pushing her down the slope as well.

She fell nearly 50 metres (165 feet), ending up close to her friend.

The mountain rescue service rescued both women as shocked tourists watched on.

The suspect allegedly left the scene but was arrested nearby shortly afterwards.

Kelsey was ‘responsive’ and taken to hospital, while Eva was flown by helicopter to hospital with serious injuries and died there overnight.

Both Eva and Kelsey had graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) last month.

The University said: ‘Our University of Illinois family is mourning the senseless death of Ms Liu and the attack on Ms Chang.

‘Both had just graduated in May and should have been able to celebrate such an important accomplishment without the fear of such a tragic outcome.’
