Victor Osimhen drops transfer hint amid links to the Premier League

Victor Osimhen is unsure what the future holds for him but has hinted he would be open to staying at Galatasaray amid interest from several Premier League clubs.

Osimhen has enjoyed a productive loan spell at the Turkish club this season, scoring 20 goals in 26 appearances.

The Nigerian striker has been one of the most prolific goalscorers in Europe over the past four seasons, netting an impressive 76 goals in 133 matches for Napoli and helping the Italian club win the Serie A title.

Osimhen was forced to leave Napoli after falling out of favour under Antonio Conte and will likely be sold this summer.

That has put a number of Premier League clubs on high alert as the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all looking to sign a new striker and have previously expressed interest in Osimhen.

Osimhen insists he ‘does not know what will happen in the summer’ but has suggested he would be open to signing a permanent deal at Galatasaray, saying he already ‘really loves the club’.

Regular goals from Osimhen has helped Galatasaray open up a six-point lead at the top of the Super Lig table, though the Turkish giants were knocked out of the Europa League last week by Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.

Osimhen has been linked with a move to the Premier League

‘To be honest I don’t know,’ Osimhen, 26 said when asked about his future.

‘You know the last few months, nobody ever thought I would come here, I never believed I would come to Galatasaray despite how big they are.

‘I live for the moment. I don’t know what will happen in the summer, but I want everybody to understand that I really love this club.

‘I love the fans, I love the President, I love everyone associated with the club. It’s really a big deal to be here and I’m really enjoying my time here.’

‘Gunners expected to sign new striker’

Arsenal are expected to spend big on a new striker this summer after leaving Mikel Arteta desperately short in the second-half of the season.

The Gunners looked into signing a new goalscorer in January and had a bid for England international Ollie Watkins rejected by Aston Villa.

Chelsea are also expected to pursue a new frontman as Nicolas Jackson was struggling in front of goal even before his reject injury setback.

Manchester United spent over £100m on Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirzkee but neither look at the level needed, so Old Trafford bosses may look to bring in a new striker for Ruben Amorim at the end of the season.

United legend Rio Ferdinand wanted his former club to sign Osimhen during the January transfer window, saying: ‘We need a natural number nine.

‘Victor Osimhen, I would have gone with Osimhen on loan. Get him on loan, man. If it’s possible I would have got him.’
