Vick Hope has clapped back at a troll on Instagram who criticised the radio presenter for posting a holiday snap in January.
The BBC Radio 1 DJ, who married fiancé Calvin Harris last year, shared a stunning picture on her page enjoying a sun-soaked beach and a cocktail beneath the palm trees.
But one user wasn’t happy and slammed the star for ‘flaunting her glamorous lifestyle’ on the social media site.
‘We know u and Calvin [Harris] have worked hard, but it’s almost February, the weather is c**p and we’d all love to get away for a bit of sunshine. So thanks for flaunting ur glamorous life when 95% of the country are struggling to pay some bills right now,’ Instagram user @ste.porter1978 wrote.
Hope was quick to respond, pointing out that the picture was actually taken months previously and she, like many Britons, is ‘freezing her t**s off’ as temperatures plummet.
‘@ste.porter1978 I’m not on holiday ste, I was at work today, have been all week, well aware that it’s bloody cold I’m freezing my t*** off right now. It’s a throwback picture from a past holiday, ste, not that deep,’ she responded.

This wasn’t the end of the matter, however, as another user decided to weigh in on the argument, writing: ‘It’s nearly February, it’s freezing and no one has any money but thanks.’
Hope jokingly commented: ”@heelspatgfk ok next time will post a pic of my grim commute home tonight from work in the storm to brighten up the timeline.’
Despite the negativity, many users agreed with the star and told others to ‘unfollow’ Hope if they had a problem with her posts.
Mrsfrancis88 wrote: ‘It’s wild that people think celebrities should be held accountable for people not being on holiday, not warm and not their lifestyle.
‘Celebrities are not responsible for the state of the country, the weather or the lack of money people have. Why follow them if their content makes you, jealous, sad or angry. Unfollow them and stop trying to make people feel bad because they can do things you can’t. It is not theirs to carry.’
Many defended the star, however, telling others to just unfollow and not share nasty comments (Picture: Karwai Tang)
Andreabradshaw2160 added: ‘Gotta love a little jealousy haha keep posting them I’m sure you will anyway. Beautiful.’
Jojoraletoana commented: ‘Imagine being angry at a picture 😂😂 people are pathetic.. You look lovely Vick.’
Vick has made it clear in the past that she has no desire to let social media trolls dictate how she lives her live.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk last year, the star explained why she keeps away from certain sites, especially as gossip swirls about her marriage.
‘I used to spend a lot of time, whenever anything erroneous was written about me in the press, I’d be like right, I’m gonna use the radio show to actually tell the truth – it didn’t work! It all got taken out of context anyway!’, she began.
‘What I’ve learned is to just not care.

‘In the past, I’ve always tried to correct things, or be as clear as possible on air or in interviews, or on socials.
‘Honestly, it’s got to a point now where I just don’t read it! I just avoid it.’
Hope and One Kiss hitmaker Harris, 40, enjoyed a beautiful honeymoon getaway following their festival-themed nuptials in September.
They invited a plethora of celebrities to celebrate with them at a Glastonbury-themed wedding ceremony in Hulne Priory in Alnwick, Northumberland.
According to the MailOnline, the celebrity guest list included Big Brother presenter AJ Odudu, BBC radio DJs Vernon Kay and Scott Mills and Jordan Nort – Vick’s Radio 1 co-host.
