Vanessa Feltz’s plan to help restore Phillip Schofield’s TV career has been shut down, according to reports.
The former presenter, 61, has been rarely seen in public since admitting to lying about an ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a younger runner on This Morning and subsequently resigning from all his ITV projects.
Phillip later gave tell-all interviews in which he said he felt suicidal amid the fallout after confessing to the deceit.
‘I am in a very bad way,’ he said. ‘Mentally, utterly, utterly broken.’
He has been supported by some fellow broadcasters, including Piers Morgan, and This Morning regular Vanessa, 61.
Following Phil’s recent catch-up with Vanessa, rumours had been circulating about him making a TV comeback but that’s reportedly not the case as sources claim ‘TV channels are keeping their distance.’
It comes after the star retreated from the public eye following the revelation of his affair with a runner on This Morning (Picture: ITV)
An insider revealed to OK! : ‘Vanessa was putting the feelers out to TalkTV producers about Phil having a segment there, but they gave her a hard ‘no’. He’s almost been blacklisted from TV.’
Speaking about a potential move to TalkTV, Phillip’s lawyer added that he hadn’t ‘heard anything to that effect from him.’
A significant number of people who previously and currently work on This Morning have made claims of ‘toxic working cultures, bullying, discrimination and harassment’ to Parliament.’

In response, ITV’s Dame Carolyn wrote a letter to the committee chair that stated: ‘You also say that others have come forward to you about their experience at ITV but do not feel capable of attempting to report their concerns, or that ITV will take them seriously.
‘Having taken the step to bring matters to your attention, in line with my letter to you the day after the hearing, I would ask you to continue to encourage individuals to contact ITV via our reporting line SafeCall, through which reports can be made confidentially or anonymously. Alternatively, individuals may wish to contact Jane Mulcahy KC directly.
‘As we made clear to you and the Committee, we are absolutely committed to enabling people to raise any issues or complaints they may have about working at ITV. We always take these seriously and will investigate and take whatever action is appropriate. However, we are unable to do so if we cannot engage with those people.’
