Vaccine passport plans could be blocked in Commons as Tory rebels and Labour criticise proposals
The i says plans to impose vaccine passports on nightclubs could be defeated in the House of Commons following a backlash from Conservative MPs and Opposition parties.
Boris Johnson has announced that it will be compulsory for certain settings – starting with clubs but also likely to include sports stadiums and gig venues – to check that their customers are vaccinated as a condition of entry from the end of September.
Downing Street is attempting to lead by example by requesting that some guests show a “Covid pass”, proving they have had two vaccine doses or a recent negative test, before they are allowed to access the Prime Minister’s headquarters.
