Today’s unveiling was just the kind of family occasion the two warring brothers needed.
All the animosity between the Spencer’s, Diana’s blood family and the royal’s that once existed was dispersed.
It was very much a Spencer occasion. The presence of Diana’s younger brother Charles, now a bestselling historical novelist and her two sisters, the eldest Lady Sarah McCorquodale and younger sister, Baroness Jane Fellowes made sure of that.
