Holland are one of the dark horses for this summer’s European Championships which kick-off in Germany in just under two months’ time.
They play Canada and Iceland in friendlies before Koeman will cut his squad down to the final 26.
While they boast many brilliant players, they will be without Timber who had been a key player for his national team until picking up a lengthy ACL injury in only his second game for Arsenal back in August.
The defender, who can play across the whole back-line, hasn’t played for the Gunners since but has recovered from the injury injury and did take part in two U21 games recently, scoring a worldie soon into his return.
For this reason, it is not entirely surprising that the 22-year-old has been left out, though given his status as such an important player there was still hope that he would make the provisional squad at least.
