Ukraine tank breakthrough in Russian-held territory
Ukraine forces have broken through Russian positions on the Dnieper river – a strategic Russian-held city in southern Ukraine.
Russia reported the advance and says there is heavy Russian defensive fire.
Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky said, “there are new liberated settlements in several regions.”
Whilst in the east, Ukrainian troops pushed into the Russian-held Luhansk region.
On Saturday, Ukraine had recaptured the town of Lyman in the east – Russia had turned the town into a logistical base.
Russia’s proxy forces in Luhansk said Ukrainian troops had pushed a few kilometres into the region and other forces are moving towards other Russia-held towns in Luhansk.
In the south, Ukraine forces had broken through near Dudchany – a town 20 miles south of the previous front line.
