The Sun: A dramatic last-ditch bid to avert war failed last night after Putin refused to speak with President Voldymyr Zelenskyy.

Putin issued a chilling message this morning before giving the green light for blasts across Ukraine.

Meanwhile, speaking at the United Nations today, Ukrainian ambassador Sergiy Kyslytsya said: “Russia has declared war.”
