UK weather to cool off before becoming balmy next week in london | UK News

Brits were given a bit of a relief from the heat this weekend as cooler temperatures moved across the British Isles, but the warm weather isn’t gone for good.

Londoners are waking up to partly cloudy skies and comfortable temperatures, with the sun set to come out later in the day as it reaches 23°C.

But temperatures will get warmer yet again beginning on Monday, with highs of 26°C expected on Monday and Tuesday in the capital.

The Met Office said: ‘Today will be largely dry and bright across England and Wales. Cloudier in the northwest with outbreaks of rain, heavy at times by the evening and turning windier. Temperatures around average.’

Next week will be pleasant altogether, the Met Office says, with partly cloudy skies and warmer weather to move across England.

On the coast, temperatures will remain cooler, with highs of 21°C in Brighton today and throughout the week, paired with sunshine.

Manchester, however, will see temperatures peak on Monday at 25°C, before dropping again as showers move through the area on Tuesday.

Those heading to the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh should expect overcast skies and cooler temperatures, with highs of 19°C expected today. The sun will come out by Wednesday.

Beginning on Monday and Tuesday, rain, which may be heavy at times, will move southeastwards with brighter spells ahead of this and feeling humid.

Wednesday will be dry for most areas and feel ‘fresher’ overall, the Met Office said.

On Thursday, the UK saw a lot of rain – flood alerts and a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms were in place with all but a couple of the flood alerts lifted by Friday morning.

The Met Office says almost a month’s worth of rain fell in an hour in Greater London on Thursday evening – and throughout the weekend there will be more changeable weather to come.
