Metro – UK pays TikTok stars to stop the boats

Various TikTok influencers will be paid by the government to persuade migrants not to cross the Channel in small boats, the Metro reports. The Home Office hopes the move will combat human traffickers who use the app to coax people to make the dangerous crossing.

The paper writes that the Home Office says it will help counter human traffickers who use the video-sharing platform to sell the British lifestyle to people, “tempting them to make the potentially deadly crossing”.

Elsewhere, the front page features a story on British F1 star Lewis Hamilton.
