UK daily Covid cases pass 50k for the first time in three months with 52,009 infections in a DAY but deaths are down
The Sun says UK daily Covid cases today passed 50,000 for the first time in three months.
A total of 52,009 tested positive for the virus in the latest 24-hour period.
The last time daily infections surpassed the grim milestone was on July 17 when 54,674 fresh cases were reported.
A further 115 virus deaths were also recorded today – down from 179 yesterday.
It is also a decrease from the 157 this time last week and the 182 a month ago on September 23.
Today’s figures bring the UK’s Covid death toll to 139,146.
