The UAE’s embassy in Israel opened on Wednesday, with Israel’s president in attendance for the flag-raising ceremony.
The embassy is located in the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange building, and its opening comes after Israel’s embassy in the United Arab Emirates was inaugurated last month.
The UAE’s ambassador to Israel, Mohamed Al Khaja, raised his country’s flag outside the Stock Exchange building, with Israeli President Isaac Herzog at his side.
The UAE and Bahrain normalized relations with Israel last year under the “Abraham Accords,” which were crafted by then-US President Donald Trump’s administration in response to shared concerns over Iran and hopes for commercial gains.
