Tyson Fury is reported to be eyeing up a role on a Peaky Blinders spin-off series following the success of his Netflix documentary.

Back in August, At Home with the Furys hit screens, with the nine-part series following the professional career of Tyson, 35, and his home life with wife Paris, 32, and their six children.

However now the boxer is said to be keen to appear on screen again, this time in a drama show based on the hugely successful series.

After Peaky Blinders wrapped up last year, one of its stars has made clear he is hoping to be at the centre of a spin-off, and wants Tyson on board too.

Packy Lee played Johnny Dogs, the Traveller cousin of the show lead Tommy Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy.

He is now pushing for a series based around his character and has already lined up the heavyweight champion as a potential cast member.

‘At the end of the day, there’s options out there in that Peaky Blinders world,’ he said.

‘There’s talk of a movie, there’s talk of a spin-off and then there’s talk of no movie.

‘It’s been a few years now since we did season six, and I’m just saying “Listen, this was a world that was created by Stephen Knight, and if there was a possibility to show another side of that world from Johnny Dogs’ eyes, I would certainly be up for it”,’ he added when speaking to the Belfast Telegraph.

He added that Tyson was keen to be involved in the show.

‘He has been on to me saying, “Are you serious?” I told him, “You know I am.” He told me, “This would be amazing”.

‘Given his background he’d be the perfect cameo. That’s exactly where I’d be going. [I would be saying] “Have you met my wee brother?” It would be unbelievable.’

In the past Tyson has expressed his interest in pursuing an acting career, telling The Ring magazine last year that ‘the world is open to so many things now’.

‘I’m doing a Netflix documentary at the moment. Who knows? You might even see me on the silver screen,’ he said.

A few months back Paris also said she could see him going into the acting business, but that it might test his patience.

In September, she told Fabulous Magazine: ‘It wouldn’t shock me at all [acting]. It would certainly interest him.

‘We’ve had some big proposals put forward for him to go into acting seriously. But he’s done acting in the past and he lasts a few hours before he gets frustrated.

‘I don’t know if he has the Brad Pitt gene. I’d need to teach him to smoulder!’

Last week it was reported that two Peaky Blinders spin-off series might be in the works as well.

The original series focused on the Peaky Blinders street gang from Birmingham from 1919 to 1933.

Last week, Bloomberg revealed one of the shows would take place in Boston, 20 years after the original timeline.

The other season is said to centre around the matriarch of the Shelby brood, Polly Gray, originally played by the late Helen McCrory.

This comes after leading man, Cillian, addressed rumours of a Peaky Blinders movie back in July and said he would ‘love to do it if there’s more story to tell’.

However, he said he had ‘no update’ on whether the project was actually in the works.

Metro.co.uk has contacted BBC, Netflix and representatives for Tyson Fury for comment.

Peaky Blinders is streaming on BBC iPlayer and Netflix.
