Two people have been taken to hospital after a stabbing on a major high road in north London.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Kilburn High Road last night at around 5.45 pm after they received reports of a knife attack near the North London Tavern, according to UKNIP.

Two people were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. Their conditions are not known.

Last night police shut off the busy road both ways near the pub, which is popular among locals.

London’s Metropolitan Police have been contacted for comment.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: ‘We were called at 5.46 p.m. on Sunday, 5 January, to reports of a stabbing on Kilburn High Road, NW6.

‘We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, and an incident response officer. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. We treated two patients at the scene and took them to major trauma centres.’
