    Two million adults in UK can’t afford to eat every day due to ‘catastrophic’ cost of living crisis

    The Independent says More than two million adults in the UK have skipped meals for a whole day over the past month because they cannot afford to eat, new research on the cost of living crisis says.

    One in seven adults lives in homes where people have eaten smaller portions, skipped meals or gone hungry all day because they could not afford or access food.

    The research, conducted by the Food Foundation, found that the number of people struggling had risen by 57 per cent in three months. The charity analysed responses from 10,674 UK adults who were surveyed by YouGov between April 22 and 29.

    Dominic Watters, a single father from Canterbury, told the charity: “The last few months have been really tough.
