Damon and Zara both bid farewell to Hollyoaks in emotional scenes(Picture: Lime Pictures)
Hollyoaks has bid farewell to two main characters in the wake of the heist storyline, and we’re not crying we swear.
The crime, which took place earlier this week, was devised by Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring), who desperately needed cash to save the market.
Grace Black (Tamara Wall), who is an expert in all-things illegal, offered her assistance, with Zara Morgan (Kelly Condron) getting involved in the plot, despite her reservations, with the latter roping Damon Kinsella (Jacob Roberts) in as the getaway driver.
The criminal caper got off to a successful start, but things soon went awry, with the trio trapped in the armoured van accidentally by Cindy, who had stopped taking her bipolar medication.
Grace, having given it some thought about what kind of person she wanted to be, decided to throw herself to the wolves, taking the fall for the crime when the police showed up, tying Cindy and Zara up to look like hostages.
The latter two got away with their role in the crime, as did Damon, while Grace was questioned before being thrown in a prison cell, where she received a visit from Cindy and Zara, who had brought along Curtis for Grace to say goodbye to.

But while it seems we’ve got Grace on our screens for a bit longer, there were still big exits on the cards on Thursday (June 29), with two fan favourites bidding farewell to the eponymous village.
Zara, inspired by Cindy’s words and Grace’s sacrifice, decided to grab life and start afresh, as she packed up her belongings and set off for a new life in Borneo, doing what she always dreamed of.

Kelly Condron, who previously starred as Zara for six years in the late nineties and early noughties, reprised her role two years ago as part of Luke’s (Gary Lucy) death storyline, though she remained on the show for much longer, becoming a firm-favourite in the process.
Metro.co.uk can confirm that Zara has left the show, with actress Kelly bidding farewell to fans in the above clip.
Hollyoaks just won’t be the same without her.
Damon, meanwhile, also left the show, similarly inspired to make use of his fresh start, deciding to chase the dream that he and Brody Hudson (Adam Woodward) had of opening a bar in New York, as he booked a flight to the Big Apple for that very evening.

Damon similar said goodbye to the village, sharing a hug with brother Scott(Picture: Lime Pictures)
After a heartfelt goodbye with Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams) and Lizzie Chen-Williams (Lily Best), not to mention a delicious moment of acknowledgement with longtime rival-turned-kind-of-sister-in-law Sienna Blake (Anna Passey), Damon left the village.
With two mainstays having left in one episode, it truly feels like the end of an era. But don’t worry, there’s much more drama to come, that much we can confirm.
Hollyoaks continues Friday June 30 at 7pm on E4 or stream the next episode on All4 from midnight.
