Two James May shows announced after Amazon ‘cut ties’ with Jeremy Clarkson following vile Meghan Markle column

Two new seasons of James May shows have been announced after reports that Amazon Prime Video has ‘cut ties’ with Jeremy Clarkson over his vile Meghan Markle comments.

The Clarkson’s Farm frontman, 62, was at the centre of intense backlash in December after stating that he ‘hated’ the Duchess of Sussex on a ‘cellular level’ and dreamed about her being paraded through the streets and shamed.

It was later reported that Prime Video had parted ways with the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host, and that the streaming service wouldn’t be working with the TV personality beyond seasons of The Grand Tour and Clarkson’s Farm that have already been commissioned.

While the claims have yet to be confirmed, with a third series of Clarkson’s Farm on the way, it has now been announced that Clarkson’s Top Gear co-star May has two upcoming programmes on the streaming service.

James May: Our Man In… is returning for a third series, with May travelling to India for his next destination, as the show hits our screens in early 2024 after filming taking place now.

Starting his journey in Mumbai, May will begin his 3,000 mile adventure and travel north through Udaipur to experience Holi festival, before he heads into Rajasthan.

He’ll then cover Delhi, Agra and Jaipur—the so-called ‘golden triangle’—before following the Ganges eastwards to the holy city of Varanasi.

Next, a trip to Kolkata, followed by the Himalayan foothills around Darjeeling, before ending his journey in the natural wonders of the Sundarbans.

Meanwhile, Oh Cook! has been confirmed for a second series to launch on May 24, which will see the presenter continue his gastronomical adventures in the kitchen as he attempts to make cuisines from around the world.

Oh Cook! proves once again that you don’t need to be a gastronomic wizard to make delicious food.

The series will continue May’s journey from kitchen klutz to capable cook, as he takes on the world’s most mouth-watering dishes and masters the tricks that can make good food great, using ingredients you can buy from your local shop and all without the usual television-cooking-format trickery.

‘I’ve been to India before, and it’s mesmerising. I can’t wait to go back for Series Three of Our Man In…,’ said May.

‘And for Oh Cook! fans, it’s also the perfect opportunity to perfect my daal.’

Oh Cook! returns to Prime Video on May 24 while James May: Our Man In India will launch in early 2024.
