Thai police detained Twitch streamer Ice Poseidon for giving lap dances to his friends while wearing nothing but lingerie at a restaurant in Bangkok.
Twitch-turned-Kick streamer Ice Poseidon has been vlogging his travel escapades across Asia for months now, rarely staying out of trouble.
His IRL streams have drawn in thousands of viewers, due to his wild and often dangerous antics, like attempting to climb a mountain in Japan amidst a raging blizzard.
As the streamer and his entourage arrived in Thailand, trouble struck yet again as they found themselves detained by the local police.
The incident unfolded when Ice Poseidon and his friends were at a restaurant in Bangkok and he began giving a lap dance to his girlfriend Kimberly, dressed in nothing but lingerie.
But the party didn’t last long. The restaurant manager crashed the scene and went off on them, claiming they were ‘disrespecting’ Thai culture and women.
‘I would like all of you to go to the police station now for doing something like this and disrespecting Thai culture,’ the manager said.
The manager said that she had caught the whole thing on CCTV and warned the group that ‘they can’t do this in Thailand.’
Taking it a step further, the manager then demanded the streamer stop recording and asked to see their passports.
Ice Poseidon hopped on Discord to update his fans, revealing that the hotel refused to let them leave the premises.
‘Mugshot with pressured admission of guilt and apology. Guilty of what? No idea. No one telling me what the law was I broke,’ the streamer wrote.
Ice Poseidon also said that he had to go to the police station the next day for further investigation, while the group’s passports were kept by authorities. His representative later said that no laws were broken, and that the streamer had yet to be charged.
In a subsequent Discord update, Ice Poseidon shared the welcome news that the group had been released from custody.
However, he revealed that they were required to return in six hours, accompanied by a lawyer, despite no charges being brought against them.
He hasn’t shared any updates since then, although it wouldn’t be surprising if the group chooses to end their trip early after the whole affair
