Twitch’s topless trend has evolved again, but the censor bars are not covering up what you think.
Streamers are always trying to one-up each other, as they compete for views on Twitch and other streaming platforms, as we saw when Morgpie took a page out of Amouranth’s sexually suggestive hot tub streams and pretended to be topless while streaming.
Morgpie and others were consequently banned for this, but after changing its nudity policy twice in just two days Twitch is back to square one in terms of the rules – with streamers none the wiser as to exactly what kind of nudity is allowed.
One streamer is now broadcasting with censor bars over her body to make her appear naked, but her secret fell apart pretty quickly.
Streamer and OnlyFans model Firedancer went live and looked like she was naked, as she had put black censor bars covering up parts of her body.
However, It didn’t take long before the censor bars accidently disappeared and it was revealed that she was actually fully clothed.
This is similar to what got Morgpie banned, as she was also fully clothed and so within Twitch’s nudity policies, despite using a deceptive camera angle to pretend she was topless.
Firedancer looks like she’s going to get by without a ban though, as Twitch does now seem to allow streamers to pretend to be naked – they just can’t actually be nude.

It all seem a bit weird but Streamcharts shows that Firedancer only had around 500 viewers during her streams last week, compared to 1,500 when she went live with censor bars in her most recent stream.
Morgpie had between 1,000-2,000 average viewers before the ‘almost topless’ trend, and now has over 9,000 average viewers during her topless-but-not-really streams.
Who knows how many versions of the almost topless trend we’ll get but despite Twitch’s ambiguous policy they do seem to be acting more lenient at the moment.
